The mischievous group from the K-POP world, Block B makes their first appearance in anan web! We talked with them, from the highlights and lyrics of their JAPAN 5th Single "YESTERDAY" that will be released soon, to love related stories!
Block B who made their Korean debut in April 2011 are a group whose 7 members are involved in producing, writing and composing their own music. Drawing the line from the usual type of idols with stimulating lyrics and aggressive fashion, they're acknowledged as the mischievous boy group of the K-POP world! With an addictive and catchy sound that lingers in one's ears, their MV views have surpassed 14 million views. In January 2015 they made their long-awaited debut in Japan. At any rate, their members love to entertain people, doing interesting things and joking around! Even during the interview they joked around here and there among other things. They're going strong, full of charm and mischievousness ♡
ーーFrankly, what kind of group is Block B? Please tell us about something that you will definitely not lose against other K-Pop groups!
Zico: We do not restrict ourselves to just one genre, the fact that we challenge all types of songs. I think we wouldn't lose in our amplitude (in music) to any group. Because we would like to demonstrate that charm to our heart's content even in Japan, we ask for your support!!
ーーWhat kind of song is your new song "YESTERDAY"? Please tell us about the part you fixated on the most during the production process !
P.O: It's a bright and cute song produced by the sexy brainy member of MENSA with an IQ of 156, Park Kyung hyung!
Park Kyung: I depicted the figure of a boyfriend who is swayed (manipulated) by a devilish-like girlfriend. I thought it would be good to show a fun side through pop different from the usual Block B. The thing that I most fixated on was the proportion of (individual) parts. I divided it well so each member's parts would be balanced. Everyone, by all means please do listen to it〜♡
ーーWhat left the biggest impression on you during the filming of your MV?
B-Bomb: It was too cold during the shooting so my hands didn't move much. But the finishing result was the best therefore I also became very happy. Because it became a fun MV that everyone worked hard in shooting, I would like it if Japanese people watch it a lot as well!
ーーDuring the performance, what do you obsess over?
U-Kwon: It's not a story that's limited to 'YESTERDAY' but the most important thing is whether or not I can enjoy it myself. If the person standing on stage is not having fun, then I don't think that person will be able to entertain the audience.
ーーSo among the member who do you think is most likely to be swayed by a devilish woman like the one from the lyrics?
P.O: Jaehyo! He lets his guard down against anyone and gets close frankly, he seems to be the type that is swayed around unconsciously.
Taeil: I think Jaehyo too. It seems he'd like the devilish type (lol).
Jaehyo: It certainly feels like something I would do... (cry).
B-Bomb: I think P.O. Because he's pure/innocent.
Zico: It surely may be P.O. Lately P.O seems to have become very interested in the opposite sex.
Park Kyung: I think P.O too. Because he seems the type to fall in love soon (too soon? quickly?), if I was a woman, I'd easily persuade him (lol)
U-Kwon: I have the exact same opinion too. Because P.O seems like the type to fall in love easily, I think he'd be easily deceived by a devilish woman (lol).
ーーThen, the one who seems likely to ask 'What did you do yesterday?' to his girlfriend, who would be the jealous member?
P.O: Park Kyung. He's a greedy person.
Zico: Park Kyung is the Fire God of jealousy.
Jaehyo: I think P.O. Because he's full of curiosity, it seems like he'd hear many things.
Park Kyung: If we're talking about jealousy, it's B-Bomb. You might not see it with that appearance but I think that's a mask he just puts on (lol).
Taeil: I think Jaehyo. Because he's distrustful (suspicious, skeptical, etc.).
U-Kwon: I think me. Even I think of myself as someone jealous, I end up wondering about what the other party is doing.
ーーStarting from March 28th, you'll hold a Special EVENT to commemorate the release of 'YESTERDAY', please tell us what to look forward in it
Taeil: We'll be doing it in the same place we held our Japanese debut showcase so it's deeply moving. Since I'll work very hard, everyone please only look at me!! It's a promise!!

Meaning someone who is handsome but has something in his personality that fails to charm further, it's an expression that can mean something good or bad depending on the context, in this case it probably refers to a joke about Jaehyo relying too much on his face or being too self-indulgent.
